The House Price Data The data file HOUSESDATA.TXT comes from Statistics for Management and Economics (Fourth Edition), by William Mendenhall and James E. Reinmuth (Duxbury Press, Boston, Massachusetts, 1982). The data have to do with sales of fifty houses in Eugene, Oregon. Each case corresponds to the sale of one house. Variables, given in the order that they appear in the data set corresponding with columns, are Selling Price (in $1000s), Area (in 100 square feet), Number of Bedrooms, Number of Bathrooms, Total Number of Rooms, Age (in years), an indicator variable indicating whether the house has an attached garage, and an indicator variable indicating whether the house has a scenic view. The indicator variables are coded 1 for "yes" and 0 for "no".
